Fredericksburg Hip?
---------------------

You should have already booked one of the five chic suites at The Austin Street Retreat. If Fredericksburg had villas in the mid-1800s, this could have been one. Owner Cynthia and David Clements have enlisted the help of Homestead. Each suite is named. Most people love the two-story El Jefe, but we opted for Annie's Cabin with the washed brick walls, fireplace, ancestral portraits and mighty bath with an enclosed stone soaking tub. Kristin's is a favorite with the green courtyard with cobbled patio, an extremely large bedroom and sitting room with large squishy sofas (and CNN) with 20-foot beamed ceilings and limestone walls, fireplace, breezeway with desk leading to the courtyard, and a bath as large as we've seen, with slate floors and limestone walls. The Austin Street Retreat is two minutes from Main Street.
